There are certain DISP mandated prerequisites that a staff member must meet prior to being considered for the CSO or SO positions. The CSO's role is the active pursuit of increasing the company's security centric culture. The must also take charge of implementing the recommendations of the SO's annual reports. Typically. a company's CSO will be:

  • Director
  • Board Member
  • Involved Shareholder
  • Other high-level executive

An SO's role is the ongoing assistance and provision of advice to staff and management regarding all security matters. This is typically a more involved and hands-on role, with responsibilities such as annual reporting and annual security awareness training of all company staff. Typically, a company's CSO will be:

  • Office Manager
  • Operations Manager
  • IT Manager
  • Chief Defence Project Manager/Liaison
